The boys are away this weekend for a youth retreat with church. So I thought it would be a good time to sit down with my laptop and some reading resources to refresh my ideas on homeschooling through high school.
This year we decided to use some standard high school text books something we have never done before. And needless to say this is not working very well for us. I have not decided yet how I want to change things around but since we are in the second semester and halfway through these books I am thinking we will stick it out and I will come up with some ways to supplement to make it more interesting and less dry for them.
A good resource for homeschool ideas is over at the Harmony Art Mom website. I really appreciate all the details this Mom has put into her blog over the years it has been so helpful for me especially since we moved to California were it has been much harder to find other Mom's and Homeschooling Families to link up with. It really is helpful to see what other families are doing. And she has an amazing website filled with lots of good and useful information.

Harmony Art Mom wrote another great page on note booking through high school. I really wish I would have seen this back in September. Note booking is something our family really loves to do. But when we got to high school I stopped not knowing how to really progress with this. I was thrilled to find this resource and will definitely bring note booking back for the boys.

Well I have lots of ideas and I am off to see what I can pull together and come up with.
