Well it's here, January has arrived. Did you set your resolutions? I was thinking about making a list and I pondered a bit about resolutions and then I just decided to jump into January. I kind of have an idea of things I like to do all year long. You know the eating healthy being active etc... Sometimes resolutions can be so set that then you feel awful if you miss the mark. Why not just embrace each day with an idea of how it should go and then work with where you are at. And if you don't eat fantastic that day ...or maybe you were not able to be as active as you had wanted don't feel like a failure. Try again tomorrow. And more than anything focus on what did go great in your day, instead of focusing on what didn't happen or what you haven't done. Every day has many gifts in it. Make that your challenge to see the Good in every day!
We celebrated New Years with yummy food.
The kids picked out the menu they wanted me to make Sushi, Miso Soup, and Peanut Butter Cookies, gluten free of course.
I am not sure if I would have thought of that combination. But it was Delicous!!
It was a wonderful dinner of dunking and noodle slurping.
My first craft project of the New Year was the Chalkboard door. Your not surprised right that I have already been crafting the New Year away! Apparently I am still going to be a crazy crafting girl in 2013 hehehehe.....
I saw the chalkboard door on pinterest and I thought to myself that is a great idea. I have a door that I hang a chalkboard on for homeschool so why not just paint the whole thing a chalk board.
What a fun project this was. I just love it, and it will be such a great help for homeschooling.
I also have been sewing some birthday presents and trying out some new patterns. I made this bag and matching wallet for my friend Janine. She loves vintage, and antique so I thought this wonderful velvet fabric would be great. I actually like it so much I am going to make one for myself and maybe even put one in the etsy shop.
Looking Good Mr. Watts!!
Mr. Watts is off this morning for an interview. He is really excited about this job and we are praying this is the one.
Moose and his breakfast face...
I hope your having a great January so far ~ Happy New Year!!
I still find each day to short for
all the thoughts I want to think,
all the walks I want to take, all the
books I want to read, and all the
friends I want to see. The longer
I live, the more my mind dwells
upon the beauty and the wonder of the world.
~John Burroughs
Praying with you all, hope this IS the one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely purse! Very vintagy!(not a word, ha!) But that's how I wanted to say it.
Those drawings are incredible, your students have some real talent it seems!
I'm like you, I don't make resolutions, each day is a work in itself, each one is different...so each day pray and ask what God wants me to learn, work on, change. That'll help me more I believe.
I've never really mad a New's Year resolution, hmmm? I guess though when I think hard enough about it, some where subsonsciencously I think I do.
ReplyDeleteI love all the pictures... food and horse!

ReplyDeleteBest of luck to your husband. The door is fab, ours are panelled so it wouldn't work, but I do fancy a chalk wall when we get a new place (fingers crossed sooner rather than later). Lovely bag too - and I'm so jealous you have a horse!
