Well It's a official we signed the paperwork, we have adopted Sheriff!
Our family has decided to rename him and we are going to call him Moose.
He is as big as a moose, and we kind of think he looks like a moose hehe.
So now comes the hard work. Getting our property ready to bring him home. While we were away in the Middle East the yard was not being maintained so with all the sunshine here it grew in with giant weeds and trees and shrubs.
We put on our work clothes and pulled on our boots, grabbed our tools and got to work.
Every day we are just going to keep coming out here and keep working on it for a few hours and I think before you know it we will have a pasture. Our to do list is quite large but to get him home it won't take much. We need to replace one panel on our corral, build a shelter for him and finish the fence on the pasture. We might get a goat to keep him company which means we would need to do a little more fence work.
I can't wait to see pictures in a few months from now to see the progress we make.
Moose needs a little work he has a few health issues we will need to work through. I am not sure how long before we will be able to ride him. But we are not going to worry about that now. We are going to feed him and get him fattened up and shower him with love.
TLC goes along way with neglected animals and I am sure it will make a huge difference in him.
So say Hello to the new member of the Watts Family
Moose!!
This has really been a season of much prayer for me.
And I think when your not sure of things a great place to be is in communion with God.
Here are some words that inspired and encouraged me this week.
~Our capacity for knowing God is enlarged when we are brought by Him into circumstances that cause us to exercise our faith. So when difficulties block our path, may we thank God that He is taking time to deal with us, and then may we lean heavily on Him.
----------------------------------------------------------
Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.(Acts 12:5)
Prayer is the link that connects us with God. It is the bridge that spans every gulf and carries us safely over every chasm of danger or need.
----------------------------------------------------------
What will prayer do for you? My answer is this: Everything that God can do for you."Ask for whatever you want me to give you" (2 Chron 1:7). Frederick William Farrar
Wrestling prayer can wonders do,
Bring relief in dire straits;
Prayer can force a passage through
Iron bars and heavy gates.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.(Romans 8:26–27) It is not necess
ary to be continually speaking to God, or always hearing from God, in order to have communion or fellowship with Him, for there is an unspeakable fellowship that is sweeter than words. A little child can sit all day long beside his mother, totally engrossed in his playing, while his mother is consumed by her work, and although both are busy and few words are spoken by either, they are in perfect fellowship. The child knows his mother is there, and she knows that he is all right.
In the same way, a believer and his Savior can continue many hours in the silent fellowship of love. And although the believer may be busy with the ordinary things of life, he can be mindful that every detail of his life is touched by the character of God's presence, and can have the awareness of His approval and blessing.

Have a great weekend!!

... Couldn't help but reminded of Streams in the Desert as I read the encouragement about prayer -- sort of like deja vu'. tee hee! But then I looked back in my devotional and there it was! I've only just started reading this daily devotional for the first time ever.
Hoping and giving all the best wishes to you and your family as you enjoy the newest addition to the family.

Congratulations on your new addition, he looks like he is going to be very happy. Love the new name. Animals are work, but worth it aren't they. We are growing our menagerie also, and there is always a list of things we still need to do.I appreciated your quotes and scriptures... I believe it is a place that many of us are in right now.
ReplyDeleteLove and Blessings,
Pam
Dear Heather,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I knew you'd take the plunge and go for it. :) It's good for a family to have a common goal to work toward, and what better thing than to help out an animal that needs you?
Love,
Marqueta
I'm sure it's going to be quite an experience, owning such a lovely animal. You are right TLC goes a long way, and Moose has fallen into the hands of a very capable family it seems. What fun, working together to prepare a place for him. Love your pics!
