Photo Diary Day 3 ~ Journey Across America

In case your just tuning in our family is again on the move...we are headed West to California from New York this is the second time we have done this drive. We have actually driven across America a few times and even up to Alaska and back twice.
This trip we are taking 5 days for the journey.
They dogs are on the ride with us and doing great. We fold down the third row of seats in our vehicle and put some old comforters back there for them which is working out really good. When we stop for a gas fill up we take the dogs for a walk and then we get to stretch our legs as well.
Most of today was spent in Texas. It was warm with off and on rain.
We still have not found a place in San Diego yet to rent while we wait for our tenants to move out of our house. Hopefully though that will all come together in the next few days. Apparently a lot of land lords do not like German Shepherds. I did not know they were considered an aggressive breed.

Bear would like everyone to know he just completed 2 weeks Doggie Bootcamp with K9 Connection in New York and they said He was the nicest German Shepherd they have ever seen and he does not have an aggressive bone in his body. And as a matter of fact they said he is what German Shepherds should be like. You know you can't always judge a book by it's cover.

Here is a photo diary of Day 3

Sooner or later we must realize there is no station, no one place to arrive at once and for all. The true joy of life is the trip.

  1. I remember driving across Texas and it seemed as if it would go on forever.

One of the sweetest dogs I know lives across the street and is a German Shepard.

    Safe driving!

  2. What an epic road trip, it's the kind of thing most Brits dream of.
German Shepherds have a reputation here, too. I suppose it's because the police use them. I've never met one that wasn't lovely. x

  3. Well the look on your dog's face sure doesn't look aggressive to me! What a cute photo of your pup :)

I am sure God will open just the right house door for you in renting a home. Things will fall together once you're in Cali.

    Hugs,
    Sue

  4. If that quote is true, you ought to be one of the most joyful persons in the world :)

I think it is so true at every level of life - especially spiritual. NO one has "arrived" in THIS life as far as I know...

Glad the dogs are faring well...praying for a comfortable rental for your family in CA.

  5. It seems to me that those who think German Shepherds are aggressive don't know the breed or how to teach it if they own one. Shepherds had to be gentle enough to be around the livestock they once herded. Texas is one of my favorite states. I lived there for 8 years.

  6. Poor Bear! How could anyone look at him and not think he is anything but cute!

  7. Heather, I am always amazed by your posts and Bear's photo is priceless. I believe you are someone who looks for blessings not shadows! Good for you!
You have been blessed with a lovely family and as long as you are together, nothing else matters.
God be with you always and drive carefully!
